Our Commitment to Health and Safety
The health and safety of our patients and staff is our priority

As such, we are taking the following steps to ensure the safe delivery of eye care to you and your family upon our re-opening

  • We will be screening all patients for COVID-19 symptoms, those exposed to COVID-19 and those who have travelled outside Ontario in the last 14 days before entering our office

  • You are required to wear a properly fitting mask (covering both nose and mouth) to enter the office. Please keep it on during the entire duration except where permitted (during the final frame styling selection where we will maintain a distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart)

  • Upon entering our office you are required to use the provided hand sanitizer.

  • Our doctor and staff will be wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks and face-shields

  • Patient flow into the office will be controlled and ALL visits (including optical visits, repairs and adjustments ) will be by appointment

    •  “Walk-ins” may be accommodated but will need to phone the office prior to entering

    • Curbside pick up will be available for purchases and our dropbox will be available for pre-arranged drop offs

  • Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time

  • We ask that you arrive at your appointment alone unless you are a minor and require adult supervision or require a caregiver or a translator. Other visitors will have to wait in the car or return after your appointment (including the person who will be driving after your exam e.g. after dilation drops)

  • No more than 3 appointments per family will be booked at this time

  • Given our limited availability, failure to show up for your appointment will result in a no-show fee of $40.

  • We will be aware of common “touch points” within the office such as door handles, counters, keyboard, phones, credit card machines, pens, etc and will be disinfecting these often. Cleaning schedules are also posted in the office

  • The exam room and equipment will be sanitized after each patient

  • Discussions with the doctor and staff will be kept to a minimum. Phone calls, electronic communication or tele-health video conferencing will be used as often as possible

  • Patients are encouraged to make use of the online scheduler on our website and completing the medical history and appointment questionnaire

  • We will be triaging routine exams based on a patient's susceptibility to COVID-19 such that high risk patients will be scheduled during the morning office hours or scheduled at a future date

  • All magazines, books, toys have been removed from the office

  • A clear acrylic partition has been installed at our reception desk.

  • Frames will be sanitized after each unique wearer with soap and water or diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide and water per manufacturers’ instructions to uphold all warranties

  • No visual field examinations will be done at this time unless urgent.  We will continue to perform retinal imaging and OCT testing

  • No contact lens trainings will be completed at this time to reduce time between trainer and patient

We appreciate your efforts in keeping with these protocols based on the guidelines set forth by the provincial government, the College of Optometrists of Ontario and our Provincial association
