Vision and ocular conditions don't often present with recognizable symptoms. That is why the Canadian Association of Optometrists and Midhurst Family Eye Care recommend routine eye examinations to maintain good vision and overall eye health.
Children should have their first eye exam between 6 and 9 months, again at age 2-3, prior to starting kindergarten (age 4-5) and every year after that. Children under 20 are covered under OHIP.
Adults 20-64 should have an eye exam every 2 years, and annually for 65 years or older.
Patients with certain medical or eye conditions may require more frequent monitoring as recommended by our doctor
