Vision and ocular conditions don't often present with recognizable symptoms. That is why the Canadian Association of Optometrists and Midhurst Family Eye Care recommend routine eye examinations to maintain good vision and overall eye health.
Children should have their first eye exam between 6 and 9 months, again at age 2-3, prior to starting kindergarten (age 4-5) and every year after that. Children under 20 are covered under OHIP.
Adults 20-64 should have an eye exam every 2 years, and annually for 65 years or older.
Patients with certain medical or eye conditions may require more frequent monitoring as recommended by our doctor
We are licensed to treat and prescribe for a variety of ocular conditions (e.g. eye infections, inflammation, allergies, glaucoma)
Come in and browse our optical gallery. In our bright spacious area we feature an assortment of designer and handcrafted frame lines and quality sunglasses (prescription sunglasses available). Ask Dr. Thompson about her favourites and why she selected them.
She will sit down with you after your exam, take the time to review your visual needs for work and your general lifestyle and make her recommendations. Everyone is different and we want you seeing your best and looking your best with your personalized eye wear.
*We also have a selection of value frames for that second pair, fourth pair of reading glasses or the highly essential back up pair so you don't have to experience THAT moment.
Avoid the long waits in the walk-in clinic or ER. We try our best to accommodate same day appointments if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
